Punched Flower Cards

by Sarah on 22/02/2010

I made these simple thank you cards tonight. I have used a simple colour palette, Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. Here’s how I made these cards:

Card 1 (Left)

  • Take an A4 piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock, and place into SU trimmer length ways. Trim at 10.5cm. Then score in half at 10.5cm to make a folded square card, 10.5cm x 10.5 cm.
  • Trim a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock at 9.5cm x 8.5cm. Punch corners with SU corner rounder punch.
  • Trim a scrap of Old Olive card stock at 9.5cm x 3.5cm. Punch with corner rounder.
  • Use SU Paper Snips and snip down the long side.
  • Use SNAIL Adhesive to stick the two pieces together. Align on the SU Paper Grid to make sure the finished size is 9.5cm x 9.5cm. Glue to card base.
  • Rip out a few of the snipped lengths down the side and rough it up.
  • Take scallop punch and punch one scallop circle from Barley Banana card stock. Use Chocolate Chip ink and ink the edges. Use paper snips to cut into the centre of the flower.
  • Take 1-3/4″ circle punch and punch out 1 Old Olive and 1 Pumpkin Pie circle.
  • Hold the Old Olive circle in the circle punch to create a leaf shape and punch out again. Repeat as desired. Use the flower stamp from ‘Playful Petals’ stamp set and stamp in Chocolate Chip ink onto the leaves.
  • Snip the Pumpkin Pie circle all around the outside, and trim so it is smaller.
  • Take button from Earth Elements button collection and thread the SU cord into the button holes.
  • Layer up the pieces with glue dots to fix the flower, and SNAIL Adhesive to fix the leaves to card.
  • Ink up Thank You sentiment from ‘Thank You Kindly’ stamp set, in Chocolate Chip and stamp on card.
