For the One I Love…

by Sarah on 10/05/2010

Hello all! I tided my craft room yesterday, can you believe it?! Yes you read correctly Michelle Last, I tidied! I love it when I have good sort out and move around. I feel so much better for doing it and it often sparks ideas for cards as I’m tidying away. Try it.

I made this card late last night. What do you all think? As for my craft desk, you’d never have known that I’d been a good girl and cleared up! I can never seem to stay tidy when I’m making a card. I hope to tidy up during the morning tomorrow so I can take some photos of my lovely room. It’s changed alot since I last took some.

I’ve not put a sentiment on this card because I thought it was obvious that it’s for someone very dear to me.

Please pop back to my blog tomorrow as I have something rather exciting going up! (You could win goodies!)

‘Mini’ Thank You Cards

by Sarah on 05/04/2010

Every month I try and spend an hour or so making a new batch of mini thank you cards. I send these Thank You cards out to all of my customers after they have ordered to say ‘Thank You’. This month I have finally got a chance to break open the brand new  ’Fox & Friends’  stamp set from the ‘Mini Catalogue.’

I have taken a 12″ x 12″ sheet of Whisper White cardstock and scored at 2, 6 and 10 inches. I then cut at 4 and 8 inches, giving me three 4″ x 12″ lengths with a score line down the centre. Next I put the lengths in the paper trimmer and cut at 2 inches. Doing this with a 12″ x 12″ sheet of cardstock gives me 18 mini 2″ x 2″ cards.

I have used the owl, monkey, lion and the whale along with two of the ‘Thanks’ sentiments from the ‘Thank You Kindly’ Stamp Set. Using Tombow glue I have added googly eyes!

 Fox & Friends (117020) – £14.95

Thank You Kindly (111700) – £11.95

“‘Mini’ Thank You Cards” Cardstock: Whisper White. Stamp Set(s): Fox &Friends, Thank You Kindly. Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Taken with Teal, Elegant Eggplant.

January Card Class – Circle Circus

by Sarah on 22/01/2010

Today is the first monthly workshop of the year. I must admit I am a little nervous, but I’m sure I’ll be fine once I’m there. The photograph shows the projects we will be making, 3 cards and a covered notepad. I have chosen Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Regal Rose, Rose Red and Real Red for my colour palette. I wanted to use Valentine’s as a theme, but only the colour scheme so these cards can be sent all year round. The stamp sets are Circle Circus and Sincere Salutations. All of the punches are the circle punches. Let me know what you think! :)

Here are all the cards we made!

Thinking of You

Thinking of You

Today I was playing with my ‘Like a Rose’ stamp set. I love it. I just love it. I had stamped a sheet of whisper white card stock, and cut up into strips to cover notepads. I had a small strip left that I was just going to throw in the bin, but just as I was doing that I had an idea. I love this card and I think it’s a clever way of using your punches, without punching out the complete image within the punch. It just goes to show, don’t throw away anything, you can always create a card from it.

Here’s how I made this card:

1. Stamp rose image onto Whisper White cardstock, using Pink Passion and Pretty in Pink for the rose bud and Certainly Celery with Sage Shadow for the leaves.

2. Using the three circle punches, punch out various circles from the stamped image, and keep to one side.

3. Cut one A4 sheet of Kraft cardstock in half, then fold in half again with bone folder.

4. Using the original punched out cardstock, use this as a guide and place this in the position you would like each rose.

5. Using SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the punched out circles, back into position onto the guide, lining up the image.

6. Once all circled have been adhered to the card, remove the guide to reveal the circle pattern.

7. Stamp the Floral Swirl stamp from Baroque Motifs with Sage Shadow on base card.

8. Stamp the ‘Thinking of You’ sentiment in Basic Grey onto Whisper White cardstock, punch with 1″ circle punch, adhere into position, trimming off edge.

9. Make a bow with Certainly Celery 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon, adhere with Sticky Strip.

10. Finally punch corners with corner rounder.

Below  is a list of all materials used:
